More Stairs!
Today’s pictures showing a beautiful sunny day in La Creuse. Paul has been busy mowing but has left some uncut squares so that wild flowers can grow. Gosh how I miss our home ... the rhododendron is showing off to great effect. The orchard is doing well!
On May 27, 2020 - Before.....
After.... almost done. This is a big step for us. It’s taken us over a year to get these doors made and installed. Our patience is paying off. Once this is complete we unlock the potential of the caves. Ben can finally build his dream workshop and I can buy more used bikes and scooters for our friends and family. We can lock things away and feel that they are secure. I’m so excited to see the finished product. They will be stained medium oak. We decided not to paint them white. I don’t think it was original to the place anyway. We are also debating whether to have the cut out features. It would feel a bit less secure and allow all sorts of things to fly in and nest (the bats are cute but we don’t need a colony deciding that they want to live there).
On May 29, 2020 - Now stained and sealed! One more set of barn doors to go. We are also getting another door on the stable replaced, a new front door for the gîte with the new fancy stair case and then it’s on to the Chateau doors I think
