On May 17, 2021 - Well this is a life lesson for you! When renovating a chateau, remember that there is an exception to every rule... I wonder where that came from? Taking things one exception at a time....
Even with all the ups and down, discovering weird things and second guesses, this is still the best adventure and we are so excited to seeing what we can make of this beautiful chateau. Our desire is to do it justice and restore it to its former glory. But we're also staying grounded and handling the hiccups and exceptions as they come.

Eh bien, c'est une leçon de vie pour vous! Lors de la rénovation d'un château, rappelez-vous qu'il y a une exception à chaque règle ... Je me demande d'où cela vient? Prendre les choses une exception à la fois ...
Même avec tous les hauts et les bas, la découverte de choses étranges et de secondes suppositions, c'est toujours la meilleure aventure et nous sommes tellement excités de voir ce que nous pouvons faire de ce beau château. Notre désir est de lui rendre justice et de lui redonner son ancienne gloire. Mais nous restons également ancrés et gérons le hoquet et les exceptions à mesure qu'ils surviennent.
On May 19, 2021 - We have quite a few new faces following our journey! So we thought it was time we said hello and introduced you to the folks behind all this! We're Vanessa and Ben and we have a chance to set up a future that will allow us to work together to achieve a fantastic goal: the restoration of a chateau in the beautiful Creuse countryside. It was the first of five properties viewed, but it captured our heart and imagination. Since then, we set out to bring the property back to life. Currently, restoration work is being done on the ballroom, but we are also renovating the chateau's three out buildings and recreating the parklands. We're glad you're here with us!

Nous avons pas mal de visages à la suite de notre voyage! Nous avons donc pensé qu'il était temps de vous dire bonjour et de vous présenter les gens derrière tout cela! Nous sommes Vanessa et Ben et nous avons la chance de créer un avenir qui nous permettra de travailler ensemble pour atteindre un objectif fantastique: la restauration d'un château dans la belle campagne creuseoise. C'était la première des cinq propriétés vues, mais elle a captivé notre cœur et notre imagination. Depuis, nous avons décidé de redonner vie à la propriété. Actuellement, des travaux de restauration sont en cours sur la salle de bal, mais nous sommes également en train de rénover les trois bâtiments du château et de recréer le parc. Nous sommes heureux que vous soyez ici avec nous!

That song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favourites and it's such a great metaphor for what we're trying to achieve at the chateau and this whole journey in general. Undertaking a renovation project of any magnitude requires a great deal of imagination.
You have to be able to view things not as they are in the present but as they could be. When you throw in the complexities of a historic renovation too, you also need to be able to view things how they once were. It requires a great deal of imagination and because of that, what would ordinarily not be viewed as such suddenly becomes a very creative project.

Cette chanson de Willy Wonka et de la chocolaterie est l'une de mes préférées et c'est une si belle métaphore de ce que nous essayons d'accomplir au château et de tout ce voyage en général. Entreprendre un projet de rénovation de quelque ampleur que ce soit demande beaucoup d'imagination.
Vous devez être capable de voir les choses non pas telles qu'elles sont dans le présent, mais telles qu'elles pourraient être. Lorsque vous ajoutez également les complexités d'une rénovation historique, vous devez également être en mesure de voir les choses comme elles étaient autrefois. Cela demande beaucoup d'imagination et à cause de cela, ce qui normalement ne serait pas considéré comme tel devient soudainement un projet très créatif.
