On March 18, 2021 - It’s easy to want to focus on the buildings. But it’s the grounds that bring a sense of place. There is so much work that goes into keeping up with nature and trying to keep our carved out bit from being fiercely reclaimed. We are not at war and are constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. For every tree that comes down another has either self seeded in the woods or has been purposefully planted in the orchard. We are trying to uncover rather than reclaim. We believe Péré Blanc built a magical parkland with man-made ponds and waterfalls, stone steps covered by years of leaves and debris and there is even a folly of a prayer hut waiting to be discovered if you only find the right path. I can happily spend a lifetime discovering the secrets in our woods.

Il est facile de vouloir se concentrer sur les bâtiments. Mais ce sont les motifs qui apportent un sentiment d'appartenance. Il y a tellement de travail à faire pour rester en phase avec la nature et essayer d'empêcher notre partie taillée d'être farouchement récupérée. Nous ne sommes pas en guerre et essayons constamment de maintenir l'équilibre. Pour chaque arbre qui descend, un autre s'est soit auto-ensemencé dans les bois, soit volontairement planté dans le verger. Nous essayons de découvrir plutôt que de récupérer. Nous pensons que Péré Blanc a construit un parc magique avec des étangs artificiels et des cascades, des marches de pierre couvertes par des années de feuilles et de débris et il y a même une folie d'une cabane de prière à découvrir si vous ne trouvez que le bon chemin. Je peux passer toute ma vie à découvrir les secrets de nos bois.
