On January 27, 2020 - Productive day... Ben looking all professional in his boiler suit. Holes filled and patched, wet sanding to commence. And it is confirmed... the furniture has returned home and is back in the Chateau. I know they are chairs and chaises... I know they are inanimate... but I can’t help imagining this sentience that exists... they must be so happy to be back in their home.... (this is where Ben rolls his eyes).
On January 29, 2020 - It’s a bit nerve wracking painting over something that was once considered glorious and the crown on top of the head of the beautiful lady that is our ballroom. I remember first seeing the sky painted on the dome and marvelling at its faded beauty. And now we take a chance and hope to put our own stamp on the history of the ballroom. So here is the first step in creating the blank canvas. I can almost picture the parties, the weddings and the dancing that will one day fill the room with happiness. I hope our contribution will be lovingly appreciated for the next 100 years.
