On January 14, 2020 - Sometimes when it feels a bit overwhelming in terms of the task ahead, you need the universe to tell you that it’s all going to be worth it. This past weekend, we were contacted by a woman who spent time at the Chateau, as a child. She now lives in Paris. They have some furniture that they think needs to return to the castle. They’ve made us a sweet deal. We continue to be amazed and blessed by how things continue to work out.
On January 18, 2020 - Up until now, we have ignored the chateau. It’s the museum in the background. We’ve been really focussed on the gîtes and the grounds. It’s been too scary to contemplate. When you start thinking about what needs to be done, it’s... nuts. But now We need to be brave. We need to turn on the electrics, turn on the water and see what happens. This is the plan for the next trip out. Ben’s all over it with our trusted plumber and we found an electrician who’s brave enough to give it a go... so I’m sat here like... “What brave thing can I do to cement our intention to move on to the chateau?” Find an Essex guy who sources french antiques from France and brings them back to his shop in South End on Sea, so that I can bring them back to France! We made him an offer on his whole eBay listing and he hit us on that offer. 17 items in total- 5 beds, 4 wardrobes, 6 night stands and 2 mirrors. 27 rooms on a budget.
